Red and White Mountain Road

Available for both hiking, 4WD and mountain
biking, the 14.4 mile Red And White Mountain Road is rated Moderate to
More Difficult and follows the Red and White ridgetop. The first steep
climb is located at about 3.3 miles. Stay right at mile 4.1 and again at
4.3 miles where the Davos Singletrack Trail is on the left. Travel under
the power lines at mile 4.6. Buck Creek Trail is reached on the left at
mile 6.4, while Metcalf Creek Road (FR 779) is located on the left at mile
8.9. Stay right at both junctions. At mile 11.6 June Creek Road is reached
on the left, Pass Trail #1881 at mile 12.2, FS 433 at 12.9, and Moniger
Road (FS 701) at mile 14.4. From this point take a right to
complete a loop back to Red Sandstone Road or a left 9 miles to get to
Highway 131 just north of Wolcott and I-70. To reach Red And White Mountain Road from I-70, take exit 176 for Vail
Colorado. Turn north and travel along North Frontage Road west to Red
Sandstone Road (FR 700). Continue along FR700 for about 7 miles to a sign
for Red and White Mtn. Road #734 and turn left. Reset odometer here.
