White River National Forest
Traveling parallel to Sweetwater Canyon the 6.43 mile
Cross Creek Trail quickly drops down into an aspen forest in the first 0.5
mile and crosses Lake Creek. A short steep offshot from the trail is
located at the Lake Creek crossing which takes you to a small privately
owned cave were visitors are welcome. The cave entrance has charcoal

ago. At about 2.5 miles Cross Creek Trail reaches a fork. Continue a long
the right fork which heads along the same direction as the canyon (left
fork is Prospect Trail #1867). After crossing Dry Sweetwater Creek the
trail ends at it's junction with Sweetwater Trail.Cross Creek Trail is available for
hiking, biking, horseback riding, and motorcycles.
