White River National Forest
Available for hiking & horseback riding, the
6.9 mile Martin Creek Trail is rated More Difficult as it climbs steadily
following an old road. Passing by the remains of several old cabins,
Martin Creek Trail offers good views of Cross Creek Valley and Mount of
the Holy Cross. At about 6 miles, hikers may turn right onto Grouse Mtn.
Connector Trail #2010 toward West Grouse Creek Trail #2129 or continue
left towards Cross Creek Trail #2006. To reach Martin
Creek Trail from Vail Colorado, travel west along I-70 to exit 171 for
Minturn. Exit and travel south along US 24 for about 2.3 miles to the south
edge of Minturn. After passing the Battle Mountain Trading Post, turn right
onto a dirt road just before a blue house. The trail begins up the hill at
the end of the drive. Private property surrounds the
trailhead.
