Tellurium Lake Trail #1917

Traveling 4 miles to Tellurium Lake, then 2.8 more to it's
junction with Last Chance Creek Trail, the 6.8 mile Tellurium Lake Trail
is an easy trail with lots of meadows with flowers and provides access to
Woods Lake Trail, Last Chance Trail,
Josephine Lake and Henderson Park.
To reach Tellurium Lake
Trail from Carbondale Colorado, travel east along Highway 82 to Basalt and
turn left at the stoplight onto Fryingpan River Road. Continue along
Fryingpan River Road for 27 miles to Road #501. Turn left onto 501 toward
Elk Wallow Campground and travel about 3 miles to road #506.Turn left
onto 506 and continue 5 miles. As the road makes a sharp right on the second
ridge, you will see an old logging road on the right side with a cable
across it and some rocks blocking vehicle traffic. This is the beginning of
the trail. Parking is available about 1/8 mile down the road. Walk uphill to
the trail.
