White River National Forest
Also known as Centennial Trail, the 5 mile East Elk Creek
Trail is rated difficult and offers a unique journey through the steep,
narrow canyon of East Elk Trail. Following the creek, East Elk Creek Trail
passes by cascading waterfalls. white water and sights from early
gold mining days. The first miles of East Elk Creek are
moderately sloping. Spring Creek, which flows into East Elk Creek is
reached about 3.5 miles from the trailhead. The latter portion of the
trail becomes increasingly difficult and sloping. |
