White River National Forest
Available for both hiking and biking, the 1.5 mile Lake
Ridge Lakes Trail travels through aspens & oak brush from the ridge top
down to South Thompson Road. The lakes are located on the south side of
the trail just before the ridge top. Great views of Mt. Sopris and the
surrounding areas area available. To reach Lake Ridge Lakes
Trail from the Forest Service office in Carbondale Colorado, travel west
past the stoplight, following road #108 for 7.4 miles. Turn left onto a
dirt road that immediately goes downhill and continue 2.5 miles to a
stream crossing, then uphill for about a mile to the pass. |
