Lost Ranger Trail #1131

Available for hiking, and horseback riding,
the 6.1 mile Lost
Ranger Trail is steep and rough, but travels past some interesting
country, including a geological dike formation at the mouth of Red Canyon
and Red Canyon Falls which is located on private property.
Two access points are available for Lost Ranger Trail:

Travel along CR 12W from Highway 125-14 near Walden
Colorado and turn left onto CR 18. Continue west along CR 18 to CR 5
and turn right. Travel along CR 5 to Delaney Butte Lakes. Travel west
along CR 20 to the forest boundary. Pitchpine Trailhead il on the left
as you cross the cattleguard. Travel along FDT #1126 north for 3 miles
to the intersection with Lost Ranger Trail.

Follow the same route as above, but travel 4 miles
west along Delaney Butte Lakes on CR 20. Turn right onto a small road
just after crossing the Wolfer Ditch. This road (FR 652) is
considered a 4WD road. Veer left after about 0.5 mile and continue
along the road going straight at all minor intersections. This road
intersects Grizzly-Helena Trail at the Red Canyon Trailhead, 0.5 miles
west of the forest boundary. Park here and travel about a mile south
along Trail #1126 to the intersection of Lost Ranger Trail.
