Never Summer Trail #1141 (Illinois River Trailhead to Fairview Mountain), Jackson County Colorado Hiking Trails

Available for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, this 2.5 mile section of Never Summer Trail (Illinois River Trailhead to Fairview Mountain) climbs steeply through spruce-fir forest and out onto talus slopes within the first mile.

Campsites are extremely limited along this section of the Never Summer Trail.

To reach this section of Never Summer Trail, take CR 21 (FR 740) off Highway 125, two miles south of Rand Colorado to the forest boundary. Continue along FR 750 along the Illinois River to the trailhead 0.25 mile from the end of the road.
