Routt National Forest
Available for hiking and horseback riding,
the 8.2 mile Rainbow Lake Trail is easy to travel up to Rainbow Lake. The
trail is not well maintained after the lake and may be difficult to
follow.
Campsites are limited.
To reach Rainbow Lake Trail from Walden Colorado, travel
along CR 12W from Highway 125-14, and turn west onto CR 18. Travel to the
end of CR 18 and turn left onto CR 5. Travel along CR 5 to CR 22. Follow
CR 22 to Rainbow Lake Trailhead.
