Larimer County Colorado Hiking Trails
Hewlett Gulch Trail #954
|
Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland
Located within the Canyon Lakes Ranger District, the 3 mile Hewlett
Gulch Trail travels north following an old road along Gordon Creek. At
the 2 mile mark there is a fork in the trail with the main trail
continuing north, winding through a narrow canyon with many stream
crossings before heading uphill out of the creek drainage into a meadow.
To the left a steep and un-maintained trail is visible. This non-system
route leaves the stream and eventually loops back to connect with the
main trail.

To reach Hewlett Gulch Trail from Fort Collins Colorado, travel north
along Highway 287 for 11 miles and turn west (left) onto CO 14 (Poudre
Canyon). Continue along CO 14 for 10.5 miles, turn right and cross the
bridge over the Cache la Poudre River.
