Indian Ridge Trail

Located within the Dolores Ranger District of
San Juan National Forest, the 4.25 mile Indian Ridge Trail is part of
the Colorado Trail. Indian Ridge Trail is not easily accessible from
roads, but is well tied into the rest of the area hiking trails. The
quickest approach starts at the Kennebec Trailhead, at the north end of La
Plata Canyon. Follow
Sharkstooth Trail west for 1 mile and turn north onto the Indian Ridge
Trail.

Indian Ridge Trail climbs for 0.75 miles to an elevation of 12,000' and
holds for 2 miles before descending to an elevation of 11,800' and travels
for about a mile to the top of the Grindstone Creek Trail.
