Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland
Located within the Boulder Ranger District, the 1.8 mile Bright
Extension Trail begins on NFSR 118 (Johnny Park Road) and drops gently
across the wooded plateau for the first mile before descending steeply
down a dry drainage on an open south-facing slope, which can be a very
hot climb back out. There is no bridge across the North Saint Vrain
Creek. To reach Bright Extension Trail from Meeker Park, turn onto the
gravel Cabin Creek Road (CR 82). At 1 mile, continue straight on the
gravel Elk Park Road where Cabin Creek Road turns left (north). Continue
2.2 miles east to Johnny Park Road (NF 118). Bright Extension Trail is
2.2 miles east on the 4WD Johnny Park Road and can be difficult to spot.
