Boulder Creek Trail is rated Easiest to More Difficult and receives
Moderate to Heavy use. From the East Portal Trailhead travel around
the right (north) side of the train tunnel and ascend the south-facing
slope through the aspens down into the valley. In a large meadow, with
the remains of a couple of collapsed buildings,
Forest Lakes Trail
turns right (north) while South Boulder Creek Trail continues up the
valley for another 3 miles. Some stretches of the trail are quite steep
and can be rocky. Towards the top South Boulder Creek Trail becomes
difficult to follow.
