Pine River Drainage
Located within the Columbine Ranger District of
San Juan National Forest, the 7.7 mile Lime Mesa Trail is rated
moderate and receives moderate use. Lime Mesa Trail begins and at an
elevation of 11,500' (Lemon Reservoir, Mountain View Crest, Columbine
Pass) and an ending elevation of 12,600' (at overview).
Lime Mesa Trail begins in a meadow, winds along an old 4WD
road, crosses through timber for 2 miles before heading down to Dollar
Lake. Lime Mesa Trail then climbs above the timberline to a crest on the
hills. The overlook is reached in 4 miles.
