Animas River Drainage
Located within the Columbine Ranger District of
San Juan National Forest, the 3.5 mile White Creek Trail is rated more
difficult and receives medium use. White Creek Trail begins and at an
elevation of 11,800' (Junction with
Engineer Mountain Trail) and an ending elevation of 11,500' (Junction
with the
Rico-Silverton
section of the Colorado Trail).
A small section of the Colorado Trail, White Creek Trail
offer very little elevation change as it travels along or above the
timberline.
