Animas River Drainage
Located within the Columbine Ranger District of
San Juan National Forest, the 4.5 mile Whitehead Trail is rated more
difficult and receives light use. Youngs Canyon Trail begins and at an
elevation of 8,100' (Lemon Reservoir) and an ending elevation of 10,200'
(Horse Thief Park, Missionary Ridge).
Youngs Canyon Trail travels uphill to Horse Thief Park on
top of Missionary Ridge Road.
