Located within the Dolores Ranger District of
San Juan National Forest, the 3 mile Rim Trail rated moderate and has
a starting elevation of 8,900' (Transfer Recreation Area) and an ending
elevation of 8,200' (merge with Box Canyon Trail #617, & intersection with
Chicken Creek Trail).
Rim Trail begins at the West Mancos Overlook, on the right
side of the road as you take the Transfer Campground turnoff from FDR 561.
Dropping slightly below the rim of the canyon, Rim Trail traverses the rim
until it joins up with the Box Canyon Trail access road. |
