White River National Forest
Available for hiking and horseback riding,
the 2.1 mile Shrine Mountain Trail travels southwest as it climbs through
pine-stubbed meadows. After about 1.3 miles Shrine Mountain Trail turns
west through pine forest before the steepest part of the climb to the
saddle. From the saddle turn right and travel northwest to Shrine Mountain
where views of Gore Range (north), Uneva Peak (northwest), Copper Mtn. Ski
Area (southeast), Patarmigan Hill & Ptarmigan Pass (south), Sawatch Range
& Mount of the Holy Cross (southwest) and the Flat Top Mountains (west). |
