White River National Forest
Available for both cross country skiing &
Snowshoeing, the 7.38 Mitchell Creek Loop follows the Old Railroad Run
for 2.5 miles, then turns south and follows Mitchell Creek drainage
uphill. A public use tent is available as a rest stop 1.5 miles past the
drainage. Beyond the tent, Mitchell Creek Loop follow Warts Ditch Road for
0.5 miles, then returns back into a heavy forest of lodgepole pine and
back to the original trailhead. Offering good views of Chicago Ridge and
the Continental Divide, Mitchell Creek Loop receives moderate uses and is
rated moderate. |
