White River National Forest
Traveling along Avalanche Creek for 11 miles, Avalanche
Creek Trail ends at Avalanche Lake. Good camping spots can be found
along the whole route. The last 2 miles before reaching Avalanche Lake is
steep and camping is better just below the lake than at it.
To reach Avalanche Creek Trail from Carbondale Colorado travel south along
Highway 133 for 12.5 miles to Avalanche Creek and turn left. Continue 2
miles to the parking area at the far end of
Avalanche Campground. |
