White River National Forest
Available for hikers, & horseback
riding, the 8.5 mile East Snowmass Trail begins ascending steeply and
forks to the right in about a mile. Continuing through spruce, aspen &
pine forest for about 3 miles, East Snowmass Trail then breaks out into a
meadow before continuing a moderately steep climb. Once on East Snowmass
Pass, the descent to Willow Lake is via switchbacks through a steep
boulder field. The last mile travels through rolling tundra to Willow
Lake. |
