White River National Forest
Rated more difficult, the 6 mile Granite Lakes Trail
begins just before Fryingpan River Ranch. The first 3 miles of the trail
follows Fryingpan River and has a gentle incline. From the junction of
Granite Creek to the lakes, the terrain becomes very steep.
To reach Granite Lakes Trail from Carbondale Colorado, travel east along
Highway 82 to Basalt and turn left at the stoplight. Continue 31 miles up
the Fryingpan River road. |
