White River National Forest
Available for Hiking, and Horseback Riding,
the 4.5 mile Himes Peak Trail climbs steeply from the road, crossing a
small creek to a large meadow below Shepherds Rim. Climbing gradually
for 2 miles the trail switchbacks for 1 mile off the bench to a large
meadow. Continuing along the meadow for another mile to Florence Lake
the trail travels on about 0.5 miles to Big
Fish Trail #1819. From this junction the trail continues on to the
Flat Tops.
