Nichols Creek Trail #1830

Available for Hiking, and Horseback Riding,
Nichols Creek Trail rises steeply for 1.5 miles out of of South Fork
Meadows before leveling off as the trail continues 0.25 miles to Park
Creek junction. From this junction the trail gains elevation gradually
as it travels through open parks bordered by stands of Englemann Spruce
for another mile. The trail continues on until reaching
Lost Solar Trail #1828 below Lost Solar Park.

To reach Nichols Creek Trail from Meeker Colorado, travel east along CO
13 for a mile and turn east onto CR 8. Continue along CR 8 for 18 miles
and turn south onto CR 10 and continue for 2 miles, jog north for 0.25
mile, then east for 10 miles to the
South Fork Campground and the trailhead. Follow
South Fork Trail #1827 for 16 miles up the South Fork Canyon past
Budges Resort to the Nichols Trail junction. The trail is accessible
from the Colorado River via the Coffee Pot Road, FR 600 to Budges
Resort. Nichols Creek Trail lies 2 miles from the road up the South Fork
Trail.
