Routt National Forest
Available for hiking and horseback riding,
the 3 mile Bear River Trail shares the trailhead with East Fork Trail
#1119 and travels along the north side of the Reservoir for the first 0.8
mile. After separating from East Fork Trail, Bear River Trail travels
mostly parallel to Bear River to Mosquito Lake. After reaching Mosquito
Lake at 1.5 miles, Bear River Trail begins it's ascent out of the Bear
River Valley. The highest point along the trail (11,400') is reached at 3
miles, while at 3.3 miles the trail reaches the Yampa River/White River
watersheds divide and the Forest Boundary with White River National
Forest. |
