Available for hiking and horseback
riding, the 1.8 mile Crags Trail winds uphill through thick forest and
pass Lake of the Crags on the left after 0.5 mile when beginning at Luna
Lake. Leaving Lake of the Crags the trail continues uphill turning sharply
east up through meadows of snowpack through late August. This portion of
Crags Trail is marked by cairns. The Continental Divide and Wyoming Trail
are reached at the top of the trail. Two access points are
available for Crags Trail: |

Travel north of Steamboat along Strawberry Park Road
to CR 60 (Buffalo Pass Road and turn right. Travel 9 miles along CR 60
and turn right and park just before Summit Lake.

From the Mad Creek area travel along trail #1100 into
the Mount Zirkel Wilderness and turn right onto Luna Lake Trail.
Continue east until reaching the lake. At the eastern end of the lake,
Crags Trail begins.
