Available for hiking, biking and horseback
riding, the 7.6 mile Fish Creek Trail provides access to Fish Creek
Falls. The first section of Fish Creek Trail from Fish Creek Falls Parking
Area is wide and smooth offering easy access to the falls viewing area.
After crossing the creek Fish Creek Trail climbs steeply up Fish Creek
Canyon and again crosses the creek as it continues up the canyon towards
Long Lake. Just before Long Lake Mountain View Trail branches off to the
right. |

Many mountain bikers continue along Mountain View Trail which leads to
Storm Peak instead of the high-use area of Fish Creek Falls. Continuing
along Fish Creek Trail, Continental Divide, & Wyoming Trail is reached. At
this point the Fish Creek Falls National Scenic Trail ends.
Fish Creek Trail offers two access points:
- Travel 3 miles east of Steamboat Springs Colorado along Fish Creek
Road to Fish Creek Falls Parking Area.
- Travel 21 southeast of Steamboat Springs along US 40 to Dumont Lake
turn-off. Follow the old highway to FR 311 at the stone monument. Park
here, or continue along the unimproved road to Base Camp where Wyoming
Trail begins.
