Available for hiking, biking (until wilderness),
and horseback
riding, the 6.3 mile Red Dirt Trail travels steadily up until it drops
into the Mad Creek drainage To reach Red Dirt Trail from
Steamboat, travel along US 40 for 2 miles and turn north onto CR 129 (Elk
River Road). Travel along Elk River Road about 7 miles to the parking lot
on the right side of the road.
