Available for hiking and horseback riding,
the 9.7 mile Sand Creek Trail begins adjacent to Sheriff Reservoir on the
east end of the dam. Traveling southeast, Sand Creek Trail ascends about
200' in elevation arriving at a series of lakes at mile 0.8. After
crossing the creek for the 2nd time, Sand Creek Trail continues on to
cross a gully at mile 3 and emerges the forest onto an alpine meadow which
may be boggy. Sawtooth Trail is reached at mile 4.4. |
