Oro Grande Road #65

Available for both hiking, ATVs and mountain
biking, the 4.4 mile (from access #1 to access #2) Oro Grande Road is
rated Easy and receives heavy use. About 2.1 miles from the beginning the
Oro Grande Road reaches a 4-way intersection. To complete a short loop,
turn west (right) onto the dirt road and travel past the cemetery to
Highway 6. Cross Highway 6 and continue north back to Dillon along the
paved bike path. To complete a longer route, continue straight (south) for
about 1.2 miles to the next intersection and bear right to continue on to
the Summit County Landfill near Highway 6. Cross Highway 6 and continue
north back to Dillon along the paved bike path. |

Oro Grande Road offers 2 access
points:
- From I-70, exit 205 for Silverthorne/Dillon and travel south along
Highway 6 toward Dillon and Keystone. About 1.2 miles south of I-70 turn
left at the traffic light at the intersection of Highway 6 and Evergreen
Road. Turn left and immediately turn right onto Straight Creek Road (CR
51) and continue for about 0.59 to just past the Forest Service compound
and Dillon Water Tank. Just after the road turns to gravel a parking
area will be on your right.
- From I-70, exit 205 for Silverthorne/Dillon and travel south along
Highway 6 toward Dillon and Keystone. About 5.4 miles south of I-70 and
turn left at the Summit County Landfill on Frey Gulch Road (FR 66) and
park along the road.
