White River National Forest
Available for both hiking and mountain biking
(up to Wilderness Boundary), North Tenmile Creek Trail travels 3.42 miles
to the intersection with Gore Range Trail and 5.35 miles to the end of
trail. Receiving heavy use, North Tenmile Creek Trail begins as a steep
grade, but levels off after the first mile. Offering views of Chief
Mountain (elevation 11,363') and Wichita Mountain (elevation 10,855')
along the first section, the next 2 miles of North Tenmile Creek Trail
passes beaver ponds before reaching an open slope to the north. Eagles
Nest Wilderness begins just past this open slope, while Gore Range Trail
is another 1.34 miles. |
