Graham County North Carolina Hiking Trails
Snowbird Loop Trail
|
Located within
Snowbird Backcountry Area, the 0.5 mile Snowbird Loop Nature Trail
begins across the road from the picnic area and travels upstream along
Snowbird Creek. Rated easy, Snowbird Loop Trail is great for families with
small children, however due to the wooden steps built into the trail
strollers could be difficult.
To reach the Snowbird Backcountry Area from the ranger station near
Robbinsville, turn left (west) onto NC 143 and travel 2.3 miles to SR 1127
and turn right. Continue along SR 1127 for about 2 miles and bear left at
the fork onto SR 1115 which turns sharply to the left after 2 miles. |
|
After another mile SR 1115 crosses
a bridge. Turn right onto SR 1120 and continue to it's end about 6 miles
(pavement end after 2 miles) where the trailheads are located. |
