Located within the
Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the 3 mile Big Fork Ridge Trail
is rated moderate and is available to both hikers and
horseback riders. Linking
Caldwell Fork Trail and
Rough Fork Trail, Big Fork Ridge Trail crosses the low ridge
separating these 2 parallel creeks and trails.
To reach Big Fork Ridge Trail from I-40, take the Cove Creek exit
and travel west along NC 276 to Cove Creek Road and turn right.
Continue along Cove Creek Road for 6 miles and turn left onto
Cataloochee Road. Travel 3.1 miles along Cataloochee Road to the trail
on the left. |
