Located within
Panther Creek State Park, the 1.2 mile (loop) Point Lookout Tail ascends
steeply to an elevation of 400' above Cherokee Lake. At 1,460' Point Lookout
is the highest elevation in the park.
To reach Panther Creek State Park
From Knoxville Tennessee, travel west along I-40 to exit 394 (Highway
11E North). Travel about 35 miles toward the park and Morristown
Tennessee.
From
Gatlinburg Tennessee, travel east along I-40 to exit 417 (Highway 92)
and travel toward Jefferson City.. At the light turn right onto Highway
11E North and continue to Morristown and Panther Creek State Park.
