Shope Gap Trail

| Located within
Cooper Creek Scenic Area, the 0.6 mile Shope Gap Trail follows a
ridgeline north to Forest Service Road 39 at Shope Gap. Rated moderate,
Shope Gap Trail is accessed via the
Yellow Mountain Trail, 1.3 miles from it's trailhead along FDR 236.
To reach Shope Gap Trail from
Dahlonega Georgia, travel north along GA 60 for 22 miles and turn
right onto Forest Service Road 33. Continue along FR 33 for 0.8 miles and
turn left onto FR 236. Travel 3 miles along FR 236 to the
Cooper Creek Scenic Area parking lot. Walk north from the parking lot
along FR 236 for 0.1 mile to the trailhead.
