Union County Georgia Hiking Trails

Bear Hair Trail
Beginning within Vogel State Park, the 3.6 mile Bear Hair Trail (Bear Hair Gap Trail) offers panoramic views of the park and lake. Rated moderate, Bear Hair Trail receives heavy use. Sharing a portion of it's route with the Coosa Backcountry Trail, some of Bear Hair Trail falls within the Blood Mountain Wilderness.

To reach Vogel State Park from Blairsville Georgia, travel 11 miles south along US 19/129. Bear Hair Gap Trail begins to the right of the road behind the Park Visitor Center.
