| Traveling within Blood Mountain Wilderness,
the 0.7 mile Byron Herbert Reece Trail offers widely spaced blue blazes.
Rated moderate, Byron Herbert Reece Trail receives heavy use as it
travels from the Byron Herbert Reece Memorial parking area, north of
Neels Gap along US 129 to the Appalachian Trail just south of Flat Rock
Gap, near one end of Freeman Trail. The first half of Byron Herbert
Reece Trail is fairly steep. |

travel south along US 19/129 for 12 miles and turn right.
