Freeman Trail
Traveling around the south slopes of Blood Mountain, the 1.8 mile Freeman Trail connects with the Appalachian Trail at Flatrock Gap and Bird Gap. Located within Blood Mountain Wilderness, Freeman Trail may be accessed via the Appalachian Trail at Neels Gap or the Byron Herbert Reece Memorial, both of which are located along US 129. Rated moderate, Freeman Trail receives moderate use and is marked with infrequent blue blazes.
