At the trailhead, to the left is a side trail to the entrance to Bull Cave (descends vertically about 420', one of the deepest caverns in the southeast. Peaceful, not heavily used. This trail is also a hiking trail.

Directions:

From Cades Cove, in the northwestern section of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, drive up Rich Mountain Road to its end at the park boundary. Rich Mountain Road can be reached via the Cades Cove Loop Road. There is a small parking area at the trail head.
