Backpacker Loop
Beginning/ending in New Germany State Park the 24 mile Backpacker Loop Trail travels into Savage River State Forest. Offering a multi-day backpacking hike, Backpacker Loop is formed by connecting a series of trails and forest roads including Meadow Mountain Trail, Monroe Run Trail, Savage River Road and Poplar Lick Road. Designated primitive campsites are available along this hike. Savage River State Forest is located off I-68.
