Farmer Top Overlook Trail

| Part of the
Ramsey Bluff Mountain Bike System, the 0.80 mile Farmer Top Overlook
Trail is available for both hiking and biking. Located within Hanging Dog
Recreation Area, Farmer Top Overlook Trail begins along
Ramsey Bend North Trail. From the pull-off along Ramsey Bend Boat Ramp
Road, with the road behind you take the portion of Ramsey Bend North Trail
which is straight in front of you (You may take the portion to the right,
but will have much further to travel before reaching Farmer Top Overlook
Trail.). Traveling straight from the parking area, travel 0.22 mile to the
first intersection of Farmer Top Overlook Trail. |

Farmer Top Overlook Trail will begin on the left and will travel downhill in
the beginning, before heading back up. After traveling 0.34 mile, Farmer Top
Overlook Trail will split and form a 0.57 mile loop back to this point. A
shorter loop is possible by taking the right section, which will intersect
with Ramsey Bend North Trail again. Turn right back onto Ramsey Bend North
Trail and follow back to the parking area.

Hanging Dog Recreational Area may be reached by traveling along Joe
Brown Highway (NC 1326) from Murphy for 5 miles. Turn left at the Hanging
Dog Recreation Area Sign.
