The location of one of the earliest (1756) British fortifications
on the western frontier in
Monroe County Tennessee, the 1,200 acre Fort Loudoun State Park
offers a variety of recreational opportunities including boating on
the lake, skiing, fishing, picnicking and hiking. Also located within
Fort Loudoun State Park is the Visitor Center/Museum and a boat ramp.
To reach Fort Loudoun State Park from
Knoxville Tennessee travel along I-75 to Highway 72 South (Loudon
Exit).
