DeSoto Falls Recreation Area

Located within the Blue Ridge Ranger
District of the Chattahoochee National Forest within
Lumpkin County Georgia, DeSoto Falls Recreation Area is situated
within a portion of the 650 acre DeSoto Falls Scenic Area. Offering a
variety of recreational opportunities including hiking, fishing and
camping, DeSoto Falls Recreation Area is home to the Upper & Lower
DeSoto Falls.
Trout fishing is available along the stocked Frogtown Creek, while
hiking is available along the
DeSoto Falls Trail.

A day use area is available within DeSoto Falls Recreation Area,
offering picnicking along Frogtown Creek. Each of the 8 picnic sites
include a fire ring/grill, and may be accessed from the day-use parking
lot.
Camping is available at the
DeSoto Falls Campground.
To reach DeSoto Falls Recreation Area
From
Dahlonega Georgia, travel north along Highway 19 for 18 miles to
the campground entrance on the left.
From
Blairsville Georgia, travel south along US 19/129 for 17 miles
to the campground entrance on the right.
