Considered Alabama's premier rail-trail, the 33 mile Chief
Ladiga Trail is located within Cleburne and Calhoun counties.
Traveling through Talladega National Forest, Chief Ladiga Trail
connects to Georgia's Silver Comet Trail near Cedartown and Esom
Hill. Built along abandoned rail lines, Chief Ladiga Trail is
paved. Traveling through/along wetlands, streams, forests,
farmlands, Chief Ladiga Trail connects the cities of Piedmont,
Jacksonville, Weaver and Anniston. In addition to connecting
with Georgia's Silver Comet Trail, Chief Ladiga Trail also
intersects with Pinhoti Trail. Chief Ladiga Trail is available
for hiking/walking and biking.
