Jefferson County Arkansas Hiking Trails

Beginning at the Byrd Lake Natural Area, the .05 mile round
trip Byrd Lake Nature Trail is rated easy and is ADA accessible.
Traveling through an upland mixed pine-hardwood forest, Byrd
Lake Nature Trail then loops visitors through a bottomland
hardwood forest. A spur off the loop leads to an overlook of
Byrd Lake.
Byrd Lake Natural Area is maintained by the Arkansas Natural
Heritage Commission.
To reach Byrd Lake Natural Area from I-530 in Pine Bluff,
Arkansas, take exit 43 and travel north on Olive Street for 0.5
miles to Main Street and turn right. Continue along Main Street
for 0.2 miles to 52nd Street and turn right. Follow 52nd Street
east for 0.2 miles to the parking lot on the right.
