Lorance Creek Natural Area Trail
|
Located within Lorance Creek Nature Area, the 0.5 mile (round
trip), paved Lorance Creek Natural Area Trail begins in the
parking area and travels through an upland pine-oak forest.
Dropping gradually into bottomland, Lorance Creek Natural Area
Trail offers interpretive panels with information about the area
and it's ecosystems. Lorance Creek Nature Area Trail includes a
boardwalk section which features an open water tupelo-bald
cypress forest in the swamp.
Lorance Creek Natural Area is located in both Pulaski and
Saline Counties.
To reach the 294 acre Lorance Creek Natural Area from Little
Rock, Arkansas take I 530 south for 10 miles and exit at Bingham
Road (Exit 9). Turn left onto Bingham Road and continue through
a residential area to the first "Y" in the road. Go right at the
"Y", staying on Bingham Road. At the second "Y" bear right onto
Border Lane where the Lorance Creek parking lot is located 100
yards away on the right.
