The Bumpass Hell Trail starts at the parking area 6.0 miles from the
southwest entrance, 22 miles from the northwest entrance. The trail is a
gradual 500' climb for the first mile, then a 250' descent into the thermal
area. This trail travel to the Park's largest thermal area, boiling springs,
steam vents, and mudpots.
