The trails at Skedaddle Mountains is exploring at its basic level, there
are no improved routes, no trail signs, no developments. You'll need to
carry (and know how to use) topographical maps and a compass to hike this
rugged landscape. You can hike up a ridgeline to the triple summits of Hot
Springs Peak, or scramble 2,000 feet up the Wendel Cliffs, enjoying
rock-framed vistas of the expansive Honey Lake Valley to the Sierra crest.

There are also looped hikes through the James and Amedee canyons, and routes
into the Spencer basin, home to wild horses, mule deer and pronghorn
antelope. It's best to contact the BLM's Eagle Lake office in Susanville
before hiking.
