Located within
Lassen Volcanic National Park, the 3.0 mile (round trip) Bumpass Hell
Trail starts at the parking area 6.0 miles from the southwest
entrance, 22 miles from the northwest entrance. The trail is a
gradual 500' climb for the first mile, then a 250' descent into
the thermal area. This trail travel to the Park's largest
thermal area, boiling springs, steam vents, and mud pots.
Lassen Volcanic National Park is located
55
miles east of Red Bluff on highway 36, and 50 miles east of Redding on
highway 44.
