Haywood County North Carolina Campgrounds

Located within the
Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the seasonal Big Creek
Campground offers 12 tent only campsites. A walk-in campground,
Big Creek Campground offers a parking area which is located
about 100 to 300 feet from the campsites. Five of Big Creek
Campground's campsites are situated directly along the creek
bank of Big Creek. Offering restrooms with cold running water
and flush toilets, Big Creek Campground does not have shower
facilities, water hookups or electricity. All sites feature a
fire grate and picnic table.
To reach Big Creek Campground from Cove Creek North Carolina,
travel west along I-40 for 15 miles (into Tennessee) and take
the Waterville Exit 451. Crossing the Pigeon River, you then
turn left and follow the river upstream. Continue 2.3 miles
after crossing the river to an intersection, continue straight
to enter the park. After passing the Big Creek Ranger Station,
continue along the gravel road for 3.5 miles to the campground.
